Technology Agreements

Using Technology at CMS

We at Colton Middle School understand the importance of using technology in order to prepare our students for the 21st century, and it is our goal to educate students about appropriate uses of such technology in school and work settings. When used appropriately these devices should enhance the educational experience, not hinder it.

Our goals for all of our students include both digital literacy and digital citizenship as defined below:

Digital Literacy: the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create,

and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.

Digital Citizenship: appropriate, responsible behavior with regard to technology use.

As such, please find attached below two documents discussing appropriate uses of the technologies available to them that all CHS students and parents/guardians must read, sign, and return to the CHS main office.
